Found You

Before I found you,

life felt hollow like static talk radio,

distant, fading, and heartless—

the sounds of distance voices,

with souls long extinct from life.

The world could barely be read;

almost at times sorta heard.

Warmth was a distant idea.

Love remained a concept,

a sketch on the 1" margin,

a drawing of what could be.

And one day, one unexpected moment

you replied; you revealed yourself,

and in wonder, in beauty, in joy.

The life of you ignited the gas,

the hydrogen that gives life.

From that awakening your energy,

reached the quiet places

no one dared to touch, to look;

In your heart beat I felt finally,

that I am human and now

the beginning of being you dawned.

When the static emptiness went silent,

and what remained was now, was you,

to be found by your eyes, your gaze,

is to find myself in that image of me,

from you, for the first time.

Not a chapter in a book, but,

the language I was meant to speak.

Not the cure, but the truth,

that creates breathable living,

That sends life into motion,

That is what you did,

what you do.

If the universe were rewritten,

if every path began again,

I would still find you,

again and again,

through every lifetime,

every distance,

every storm.

You dawned an eternal burn

forged of stardust from your soul

lighting up the galaxy

so that you and I

can selfishly

love.
