Collapsing Into You

There was something in you
quiet and vibrant, alive
a heavy presence I craved
A longing I lived
You didn’t ask to be understood.
You didn’t have to.
You moved like someone
who’s used to being misread—
and I didn’t look away.
I didn’t need to figure you out.
I just watched.
And somewhere between your pause and your honesty,
I collapsed into you—
not like a fall,
but like gravity finally knew where to rest.
You never needed saving.
You never needed fixing.
You just needed space to be
entirely yourself—
and I was already falling for that.
You don’t have to choose softness to be loved.
Not with me.
Keep your edge, your silence, your questions—
I'll meet them with warmth, not fear.
Because I don’t love you despite your fire—
I love you with it.
And beside it.
And because of it.
You don’t need to explain.
I’m not here to define you.
I’m here to stay long enough
for you to feel what it’s like
to be seen and still held
just as you are.
